Living Her Values: How Keri Norris Is Helping to Shape the Future of Mercy

For Keri Norris, generosity can be measured by the daily intention to uplift others. Whether helping someone in a parking lot, offering encouragement to a friend or supporting organizations she believes in, Keri strives to embody an idea she holds close: "Can we each be just a little better human?"

This philosophy shapes both her daily interactions and her approach to giving. During a recent conversation with the Mercy Health Foundation team, Keri shared how even a simple sweatshirt with the phrase "Let's Be Better Humans" has impacted strangers. "People will stop me and say, 'Thank you for that,'" she noted. These moments, though small, reaffirm for her the profound effect kindness can have.

Keri believes that positive change often begins with modest acts. "When people start with even a little bit of kindness, it creates a compound effect," she said. This belief also inspired her to include Mercy Health Foundation in her estate plans.

Having seen the dedication of our caregivers, Keri wanted to ensure that support continues well into the future. Through her planned gift, she's helping strengthen health care in our community.

For Keri, legacy giving is a natural extension of her values - a way to foster kindness, compassion and well‑being long after her lifetime. Her gift will help Mercy support patients in need and sustain high‑quality care for generations to come.

Keri's generosity reminds us that legacies are built not only through extraordinary actions but through consistent acts of care. Her commitment to "being a better human" will create ripples of hope and healing for years to come.
